We are seeking skilled, reliable general laborers to join a growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail and safety protocols are essential to success in this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
  • Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
  • Demo worksites, set forms and prepare them for new concrete pour or placement
  • Mix, pour or place concrete
  • Apply finishing coat
  • Assist in building scaffolding or other temporary structures
  • Direct traffic safely around the construction or road maintenance site
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, etc.
  • May assist in preparing new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space
  • May provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters, welders) as needed
  • Clear debris and hazardous materials
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
  • Perform site clean-up when projects are complete

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must have 3 years or more experience as a general laborer with concrete and/or demolition expertise in the construction industry
  • High school diploma, vocational education is a plus
  • Must be punctual and reliable (Must have reliable transportation)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general construction and repair methods and the proper utilization and care of tools, materials and equipment.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Able to do physical labor and other strenuous tasks as needed
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Must have steel-toed boots and blue jeans
  • Clean background preferred; offenses reviewed on a case by case basis
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification preferred
  • Availability to work overtime and some weekends
  • Long periods outdoors, exposed to various types of weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
