Description

Client needs skilled, experienced, reliable back office medical assistants in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex for COVID-19 testing sites.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various back office duties in a clinical setting mainly collecting specimens for COVID-19 testing.  We are looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and enjoys working directly with people following CDC guidelines in a controlled environment. If you have experience working in a back-office setting collecting specimens, you might be a great fit for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect data about previous health, medical and surgical history from patients
  • Collect specimens for lab tests per company policy and following CDC guidelines
  • Perform in office lab tests
  • Log the date, time, and custody of test or subjects
  • Confirm from samples or specimens that tests or experiments follow standards and protocol
  • Consult with physicians, or other providers on methods of and findings from tests
  • Document in paper or electronic medical records
  • Provide patient education as directed by the doctor or other provider
  • Demonstrates fact checking, record keeping, and advocacy on behalf of agency or medical group
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and client information under all circumstances
  • Integrate quality services in back office medical assistance procedures and issues
  • Clean and sterilize the medical instruments and equipment

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-yr vocational training preferred from accredited medical assistant training group
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a back-office setting
  • Knowledge of computers and databases is necessary to record information on the subject and sample collected
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must have strong medical record documentation skills
  • Strong organization skills, filing and maintenance of all patient/client records
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Professional and courteous disposition
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
